General Carpenter Labourer
Pickerel Contracting Ltd. is seeking a General Carpenter Labourer to join our construction and renovation team. You will assist with a variety of carpentry and general construction tasks under the direction of the Site Supervisor. This is a hands-on role that requires physical endurance, reliability, and basic carpentry skills.
LOCATION: Henvey Inlet First Nation
EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-Time
COMPENSATION: To be discussed during interview
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in general carpentry work, including cutting, assembling, and installing woodwork and structural materials.
- Support skilled carpenters and tradespeople on residential and light commercial projects.
- Operate and maintain hand and power tools safely.
- Load, unload, and transport materials and equipment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe worksite.
- Follow instructions from the Site Supervisor and adhere to project plans
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- Prior experience as a general labourer in carpentry or construction (preferred but not mandatory).
- Basic understanding of carpentry tools and techniques.
- Ability to read simple plans or drawings (an asset).
- Physically fit and able to lift and carry heavy materials.
- Strong work ethic, punctuality, and reliability.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
