14th COVID 19 UPDATE July 2, 2020
In keeping with the Premier Doug Ford's gradual re-opening of the province, we have made the decision to keep everything status quo until July 15, 2020.

QUESTIONNAIRE
A total of 22 questionnaires were submitted and reviewed at the Council meeting of June 30, 2020. It was clear that members do not want anyone entering the Pickerel R Trailer Park or the leased lands. It was evident that members would like to see the security remain in place still. However, in keeping with the Province and what is going on around us, we are going to remove the security effective July 15, 2020. -
Re-opening the Administration/Health Centre/Gas Bar/Daycare/Library Direction has been given to the HR Coordinator, to begin the task of creating a rotational schedule to bring the staff back to work on July 20, 2020. until that day, we remain to lock the font door on the Administration office.

Restricted Access (Roadblocks) Pickerel R Rd. and Bekanon Rd.The security gates will remain in place until July 15, 2020. Thereafter the teams will be relieved of their duties. Please be advised though, if we observe the COVID 19 Virus numbers to go back up, we will reestablish our security at our community's borders.

Fire Ban - The risk of Fire is very HIGH Our Fire Ban remains in place. NOTHING IS PERMITTED: NO FIRES ARE ALLOWED

Gas Bar
The construction of the New Gas Bar building is complete. Staff are currently moving stock back into the building. The Gas Bar will be open for business on Tuesday July 7, 2020. New hours of operation; will be Tuesday, Thursday and Saturdays; 8:30 a.111. to 4:30 p.111. and only serving the community not the public. -
Student Summer Employment
The summer employment program will run for 6 weeks, and is scheduled to start, July 20, 2020. If you haven't already done, so, please submit your resume to Genevieve S Dubois, Education Counsellor by July 10, 2020. Locations to be tested for COVID 19
If you've been tested at either of the following locations please follow all directions upon being tested. We expect anyone to self-isolate for the duration required.
Health Sciences North Sudbury, ON or West Parry Sound Health Centre -
No Large Gatherings
We strongly encourage you to not participate in gatherings of no more than 10 people of your immediate family. -
Speeding in Community
We are getting reports from concerns members that drivers are speeding unnecessarily in our community. SLOW DOWN! Children are very unpredictable, and do not always realize the danger playing near the road may have. -
COVID 19 in First Nations/Parry Sound/Sudbury
We continue to monitor confirmed COVID 19 cases in First Nations, Parry Sound, and Sudbury and we have learned of two active cases in Parry Sound and Sudbury. -
Personal Protective Equipment
Brenda C, CHN intends to deliver a box of 50 disposal masks and a bottle of sanitizer to each household in our community at her earliest convenience.
Remember if you need to go out, make sure it's for a good reason;
1. To purchase groceries
2. Pick up prescriptions
3. Attend a medical appointment/procedure
4. Practice social distancing
Practice good hygiene, wash, sanitize your hands frequently, WEAR A MASK.
