Application for Ontario HST Refund for First Nations

If you've paid taxes (HST) and kept your receipts for purchases made last year (January 2013 - December 2013) at the grocery store, or anywhere, like a shoe store, convenience store, or drive thru for take-out food, then you can apply for a refund of the PST portion of your receipt.

Time: 5:00 pm and will run until 8:00 pm.

ANISHINABEK EDUCATION SYSTEM - Ratification Preparation Meeting

An information session for Community Members will be provided by the Anishinabek Nation (UOI).

The meeting is in regards to the upcoming ratification of the Anishinabek Nation Education Agreement with the federal government.

URGENT - James Bay Railway Specific Claim Ratification Process

ACTION REQUIRED!!!

HIFN Leadership is preparing to settle the James Bay Railway Specific Claim Process with Canada. Through Canada's process, the settlement agreement has to be agreed upon by eligible voting members.

2016 TREATY PAYMENT

Please be advised that the cash distribution of the TREATY PAYMENTS for HENVEY INLET FIRST NATION  will be held at the HEALTH CENTRE on Tuesday, May 10th, 2016 between the hours of 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm.

Community Input Meeting Postponed

The Community Input Meeting to discuss the Environmental Permit for the wind farm has been postponed. 

The meeting was originally scheduled for this coming Sunday 07 February. A new date will be posted shortly.

15th COVID 19 UPDATE July 16, 2020

We met yesterday to approve new policies of the First Nation that we would implement upon reopening the Administration. These policies are required in order to ensure the safety of our staff and visitors to our offices.

A new Preventing COVID 19 in the Workplace Policy, Personal Protective Equipment in the Workplace Policy, and Heat Stress Prevention and Hot Weather Policy were all on the agenda. These will be made available upon re-opening the Administration.

14th COVID 19 UPDATE July 2, 2020

In keeping with the Premier Doug Ford's gradual re-opening of the province, we have made the decision to keep everything status quo until July 15, 2020.

  1. QUESTIONNAIRE
    A total of 22 questionnaires were submitted and reviewed at the Council meeting of June 30, 2020. It was clear that members do not want anyone entering the Pickerel R Trailer Park or the leased lands. It was evident that members would like to see the security remain in place still. However, in keeping with the Province and what is going on around us, we are going to remove the security effective July 15, 2020.

    12th COVID 19 UPDATE June 11, 2020

    Although, by the authority of the Premier Doug Ford, it's been reported that implementation of Phase 2 of the Province's strategy to reopen ce1tain businesses and service providers, we will continue to operate the status quo. Restricted access to our community will remain in place, with services.

POSITION SUMMARY
Henvey Inlet First Nation is seeking an Elementary School Bus Driver to join our Administration for a short-term contract from September 2020 to June 2022. The Elementary School Bus Driver reports to the Education Counsellor and is responsible for transporting students of various ages to and from their homes and respective schools in a timely and safe manner and in accordance with MTO driving regulations, Ontario traffic laws, and safe driving practices.

Early Childhood Education Workers

Henvey Inlet First Nation is seeking three (3) qualified full-time Early Childhood Education Workers to join our Administration. The ECE Worker reports to the Daycare Supervisor and is responsible for providing supervision and direct childcare to children attending the HIFN Daycare, in compliance with all regulatory standards required by federal, provincial, and First Nations legislation, policies and procedures.

Daycare Cleaner

Henvey Inlet First Nation is seeking a part-time Daycare Cleaner to join our Administration. The Daycare Cleaner reports to the Daycare Supervisor and is responsible for cleaning the HIFN Daycare building at the end of each business day. The Daycare Cleaner will perform general cleaning duties including sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning and stocking restrooms, washing walls and windows, cleaning the kitchen and fridge, disinfecting all surfaces and toys, and trash removal.
