We are working on adopting our own land management code in accordance with the Framework Agreement to gain complete independence from Indian and Northern Affairs in our land management activities. A project to examine sample land codes from other communities and design a set of land management rules with a community based committee started in September 2006. After the Land Code Committee is satisfied with a draft land code, we are required to go to the community for a vote to ratify or reject this option. This is a 1-3 year process expected to be complete in June of 2009 when Henvey goes to vote provided the legal land descriptions are completed by mid-March of 2009.
