Nominations and elections are fast approaching. Nominations will be held Thursday, February 2nd, 2017 from 5pm until 8 pm at the Firehall on Pickerel River Rd., and Elections will be held at the Fire Hall on Thursday, March 16th, 2017.

Over the past several elections, a package of campaign brochures has gone out to membership. This year, so that the packages can be sent out in a timely manner, the deadline to hand in brochures at the band will be: February 10th, 12 pm. Please leave packages with Lyndy McQuabbie, to my attention. There will be no exceptions for late brochures.

This is a service the candidates may wish to access and is not mandatory. Candidate brochures mailed out to membership will benefit voters so they know who is running for Chief and Council positions for the next General Band Council Election 2017 for the next two year term.

Candidates running for office will need to provide 580 copies of their brochures for each candidate eligible voting member of HIFN. Candidates are strongly encouraged to get brochures done independently. If that is not possible, a ream of paper must be supplied when getting copies made at the health centre, candidates will also be charged $.05 per page, so the cost for getting copies made will be $29.00. Please do not request band staff to make your copies. If you choose to become a candidate, it is your responsibility to develop and print your own brochures.
